Lansweeper OT Source Connector for CI Synchronizer

Lansweeper has been expanding its world-class scanning technology to introduce a new solution that identifies industrial OT (Operational Technology) devices.

Lansweeper OT identifies devices from from manufacturers such as Siemens, Rockwell Automation, Mitsubishi Electric, and Schneider Electric. Lansweeper OT works by using industrial protocols such as Siemens S7 Communication, EtherNet/IP, MELSEC, Modbus (Modicon), BACnet, and OPC UA. The OT scanning capability provides organisations with the visibility and insights they need to reduce the risk of failure and security incidents across their OT infrastructure.

The CI Synchronizer source connector for Lansweeper OT means organisations can now synchronise OT device data in your CMDB with the same level of ease as Lansweeper IT asset (and related) data.

Introducing OT discovery data into your CMDB allows organisations to apply the same range of ITIL service management processes to this highly valuable data. Processes such as Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management are now possible with OT data being automatically maintained in the CMDB. It also means OT data is available centrally to the organization which can dramatically improve the security posture of these devices.

Works with Lansweeper On-Premise SQL
OT data is read from the Lansweeper On-Premise SQL database. This means your OT data remains on premise as a data source.
Customisable rules engine
The same CI Synchronizer rules engine is used to power synchronisation of Lansweeper OT data. This means the mappings, transforms and correlation rules can all be customised to meet the needs of an individual customer.
Natively interprets OT record types
The out-of-the-box CI Synchronizer rules interpret PLCs and Modules (within those PLCs). Additional record types are being added through customer feedback and input.
Custom driven input and roadmap
Like all of CI Synchronizer, we are enhancing the Lansweeper OT connector through customer driven requirements. Please contact Syncfish if you are keen to be involved in our Early Adopters Program for Lansweeper OT and help us drive further value from your CMDB.

Yes. CI Synchronizer can detect which source records have changed since the previous synchronisation job and only sync the newly changed source data.

Throughput is affected by factors outside of the control of CI Synchronizer, however we see a typical throughput of between 200,000 and 400,000 records per hour (and even higher rates are possible).

Yes. CI Synchronizer has a highly customisable rules engine. Such changes are made by Syncfish.

No. Each customer is provisioned with a dedicated CI Synchronizer instance.

Ultimately the customer decides, however Syncfish recommends hosting each customer instance physically close to the location of their ServiceNow instance (for best performance). It can be hosted in most/all Azure Regions globally (it is still hosted/managed/maintained by Syncfish, but the customer decides which geography it is physically located in).

No. The source asset data (read from the relevant source system by one of the CI Synchronizer connectors) is transited through your dedicated CI Synchronizer instance then deleted after it’s been processed into ServiceNow.
